President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised former President Muhammadu Buhari on his 82nd birthday, promising to continue building on the legacy Buhari left behind during his time in office.
In a heartfelt birthday tribute personally signed by Tinubu, the president extended warm wishes on behalf of all Nigerians. He described Buhari’s years of service and leadership as pivotal in shaping Nigeria’s path toward stability and prosperity.
“As you celebrate this remarkable milestone in Daura, we reflect on your years of dedicated service and leadership, which have significantly shaped the course of our nation. Your steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s advancement and unity inspires many, and your enduring legacy continues to guide our nation’s journey towards prosperity and stability,” Tinubu wrote.
Tinubu also commended Buhari’s resilience in his political journey, highlighting his determination to contest presidential elections in 2003, 2007, and 2011 before finally achieving victory in 2015 and earning re-election in 2019.
“Your doggedness and resilience in contesting presidential elections inspire us never to give up,” Tinubu noted, emphasizing that Buhari’s journey serves as a model for perseverance and determination in public service.
The president pledged to continue the work Buhari started, particularly in the area of infrastructure development, which he described as one of the hallmarks of Buhari’s administration.
“I will continue to build on the infrastructure legacy you bequeathed to our nation as the leader of our country’s first All Progressives Congress (APC) administration,” Tinubu promised.
Tinubu expressed his hope that Buhari would be surrounded by love, good health, and happiness as he marked his special day.
