The Nigerian Army announced that its troops have rescued some kidnapped students of Confluence University of Technology (CUTECH), Osara, Kogi State. Its troops have also successfully countered many terrorist attacks, rescued kidnapped persons, and caused the terrorists to abandon their arms and ammunition across the length and breadth of Nigeria.
The Nigerian Army has achieved significant success in recent counter-terrorism operations across the country, rescuing kidnapped victims and compelling the surrender of a notorious militant.
In Osara, Kogi State, troops, alongside security agencies and local vigilantes, engaged in a fierce firefight with kidnappers who had abducted students of the Confluence University of Science and Technology.
According to a military spokesperson, “The superior firepower of the troops led to the kidnappers abandoning 9 of the kidnapped students, who were subsequently rescued.”
Meanwhile, in Zamfara State, troops swiftly responded to a distress call regarding the abduction of two locals by violent extremists in Danzara Village. The extremists, fleeing in a red Golf car, were pursued by the troops, resulting in the safe release of the hostages without harm.
Similarly, in Katsina State, troops engaged terrorists in a gun battle in the Solar General Area of Batsari Local Government Area, leading to the abandonment and safe return of 17 kidnap victims.
In a significant development in Borno State, a notorious member of the Boko Haram Terrorists, Alhaji Wosai, voluntarily surrendered to troops in Garno Village, Dikwa Local Government Area, handing over his AK-47 rifle and ammunition.
According to military officials, these operations demonstrate the relentless efforts of the Nigerian Army in combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of citizens. “Troops’ resolve in addressing the threat posed by terrorists and kidnappers remains unwavering,” stated the spokesperson, emphasizing their commitment to restoring peace and stability in affected regions.
