Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes was reportedly arrested in Madrid on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone during an incident at a nightclub. The 26-year-old Portuguese international was taken into custody in the early hours of September 8 after a confrontation at La Riviera, a well-known disco in the city.
According to reports from El Mundo, the altercation began when a 58-year-old man tried to take a photo of Nunes without his permission while they were both in the nightclub’s restroom. The situation escalated when Nunes, angered by the man’s actions, allegedly took the man’s phone and refused to give it back.
The police were called to the scene around 5:30 a.m. and arrested Nunes after reportedly finding the phone in his possession. He was then taken to a local police station for questioning.
