General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General A. E. Abubakar and Commissioner of Police (CP) for Plateau State, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General A. E. Abubakar, emphasized the importance of collaboration between security agencies to combat criminal activities in Plateau State.

This statement came during a courtesy visit by the new Commissioner of Police (CP) for Plateau State, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, at the Headquarters 3 Division Nigerian Army, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Jos.

Major General Abubakar highlighted the need for joint efforts in tackling security challenges.

“If we’re drawing from the philosophy and vision of the Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TA Lagbaja, we have no option but to work together as no one agency can do it alone. We must leverage on the strength of one another,” he stated.

The GOC assured CP Adesina of his commitment to enhancing the existing military-police relationship, particularly regarding the swift prosecution of suspects. He stressed the necessity of prompt information sharing among security agencies to ensure quick responses to security threats.

“The job is not a one-man business; all agencies must work together in unison to enhance security,” Abubakar emphasized.

He also updated the CP on the division’s strategies, including stakeholder engagements, sensitization seminars, and sporting activities, aimed at maintaining peace in the state.

CP Adesina, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of familiarizing himself with other security agencies to foster stronger collaboration. He emphasized that robust synergy is crucial for mitigating crime and ensuring peace on the Plateau.

“Such visits encourage and boost the already strong mutual relationship, intelligence, and information sharing among security agencies,” he said.

The Police Chief praised the GOC for his achievements in restoring law and order in troubled areas of the state. He urged the GOC to sustain and strengthen the security architecture to maintain the peace achieved.

The visit concluded with group photographs involving staff officers and commanders from various units and formations under 3 Division and the Plateau State Police Command.
