In a surprising turn of events, renowned Afrobeats artist, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has declared his intention to retire from the music industry after the release of his next album.
The announcement, made by the ‘Unavailable’ crooner on Thursday night, comes amidst recent controversies surrounding the artist, including doctored images and videos circulated by certain blogs.
Addressing the situation on his social media handle, Davido expressed frustration, stating, “Yall niggas really want me out the game that bad ?? Oya after next album I no do again. So una fit get peace.”
This decision marks the end of an era for Davido, who rose to fame with his 2012 hit ‘Dami Duro’ under HKN Music and later established his music label, DMW, in April 2016. DMW has been home to various music talents, including Mayorkun, Peruzzi, and Dremo.
