A farmer in Plateau State has been brutally killed and beheaded by bandits while Boko Haram terrorists launched a separate attack in Borno State, killing one person and setting a palace ablaze.
The Plateau victim, Ishaku Abalis, was attacked on his farm in Panyam District, Mangu Local Government Area. His killers cut off his head and took it away.
The National President of the Mwaghavul Development Association, Bulus Dabit, confirmed the killing on Tuesday. He described the repeated attacks in Panyam and Pushit Districts as unbearable and called for stronger local policing.

“Abalis’ head was cut off and taken away by the killers. The local security outfits are aware. The Sector Commander in Mangu LGA mobilised officers to the site and is aware of the sporadic attacks. The DPO Mangu is aware as well,” Dabit said.
He urged the government to create state police, saying it was the only way to complement federal forces and protect ordinary people.
“We need visible security presence to restore confidence and safeguard lives,” he added.
Efforts to reach Operation Enduring Peace spokesperson Major Samson Zhakom and Plateau State Police spokesperson DSP Alabo Alfred were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
