The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a notorious gang of suspected ritualists accused of killing people and harvesting body parts for sale across various states.
Confirming the arrest on Friday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed the identities of the suspects, including a woman who serves as an Osun priestess, a community chief, an Ifa priest, an Islamic cleric, and a trado-medical practitioner.
According to Hundeyin, the arrest was made following intelligence reports from the public, leading to the capture of the gang members who operated within Lagos State.
The leader of the gang, identified as 33-year-old Ademola Akinlosotu, confessed to initially exhuming corpses from cemeteries but later transitioned to killing individuals and selling their body parts to customers upon demand.

Akinlosotu disclosed the gruesome details of their operations, stating, “While I and some members of the gang would do the killings,” he would supply the harvested parts to a 52-year-old man, Ahmed Wahab, also known as Alfa Bororo, for distribution to clients in Lagos State and Ogun State.
In a chilling admission, Akinlosotu confessed to killing two individuals, including a friend he met through social media, before his arrest. He revealed that consultations with a herbalist were conducted prior to each killing to determine the likelihood of success or potential consequences.
Highlighting the lucrative nature of their trade, Akinlosotu disclosed the prices of human body parts, with fresh human heads fetching between N45,000 and N50,000, while dried heads sell for N30,000 to N35,000. Other body parts, such as hearts and hands, were also sold at exorbitant prices.
The police spokesperson, Hundeyin, confirmed the recovery of exhibits containing various human body parts from the suspects. The command assured the public that investigations were ongoing, and the suspects would be charged to court upon the completion of the investigation process.
