In a move to ease transportation costs during the holiday season, Dangote Refinery has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N899.50 per litre. The announcement was made on Thursday by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group.
The refinery, Africa’s first privately-owned oil refining facility, had earlier slashed petrol prices to N970 per litre on November 24. The latest reduction aims to bring further relief to Nigerians, particularly during the Yuletide period when travel expenses typically rise.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or Single Point Mooring (SPM),” Chiejina said in the statement.
Additional Benefits for Consumers
As part of the festive offer, the refinery has introduced a special purchase option allowing consumers to buy one additional litre of petrol on credit for every litre purchased in cash. However, this credit option requires a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
“Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” Chiejina added.

In addition to price reductions, Dangote Refinery reiterated its commitment to providing Nigerians with high-quality, environmentally friendly petroleum products at competitive prices. The company thanked consumers for their continued patronage and assured them of its dedication to improving the petroleum supply chain in the country.
Chiejina highlighted the refinery’s role in ending Nigeria’s reliance on substandard and blended imported petroleum products, which have historically posed risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.
“Our refinery is committed to ending Nigeria’s dependence on substandard and blended imported petroleum products that harm human health, machinery, and the environment,” he stated.
