Antonela Roccuzzo, wife of football legend Lionel Messi, recently became the newest face of Adidas, starring alongside her husband in the brand’s latest campaign. The entrepreneur and philanthropist has now opened up about the sacrifices she made for love, family, and the incredible journey that brought her to this point.
In an exclusive interview with Grazia, Roccuzzo revealed how she gave up her dream of becoming a dentist to support Messi’s football career.
“At that moment, I was dating Leo, and I knew I was going to move soon,” she shared, recounting her decision to leave her studies in Argentina to join Messi in Barcelona.
A Life-Changing Sacrifice
Born and raised in Rosario, Argentina, Roccuzzo grew up in a close-knit family that instilled strong values in her. She dreamed of a career in dentistry but ultimately chose a different path when her relationship with Messi deepened.
“I always wanted to be a dentist,” Roccuzzo admitted. However, her love for Messi and the life they envisioned together took precedence over her career aspirations.
Her decision marked the beginning of a new chapter, as she stood by Messi’s side while he rose to international stardom.
Building Her Own Legacy
Fast forward to today, Roccuzzo has carved her own identity as an entrepreneur, mother of three, and now, an ambassador for one of the world’s leading sportswear brands. The couple’s first official collaboration with Adidas features them in the brand’s Essentials collection campaign.
“I have always admired the brand so much,” she said. “It’s kind of like a dream come true, and I just hope to fulfill expectations and do the best I can.”
Roccuzzo explained that her partnership with Adidas aligns perfectly with her values of family, fitness, and mental and physical health.
“All the values around the brand, like sports and being healthy mentally and physically, make complete sense for me. They are values I really care about,” she explained.
A Life Grounded in Humility
Despite her glamorous lifestyle and over 40 million Instagram followers, Roccuzzo remains grounded. Since moving to Miami following Messi’s transfer to Inter Miami, she has embraced the city’s warmth and sense of community.
“It was pretty easy to adapt. We felt really, really welcome,” she said.
She also shared her commitment to raising her three boys with values of kindness, respect, and humility, ensuring they grow up with strong moral foundations.
