A UK-based Nigerian, Agu Chigekwu, also known as richjoelng on Instagram, has voiced his disappointment regarding popular Nigerian Pastor, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, for failing to pray for congregants at a recent event in London.
Chigekwu expressed his dismay, stating that he attended the event with high expectations of witnessing Odumeje perform miracles and offer prayers for attendees. However, his hopes were dashed when Odumeje only sang and left without offering any prayers.
“When he came, he was already advertising powers, abidoshaker, citadel, he will release powers and the one he has not touched. Na so people take come o, filled the place. People came out!” Chigekwu lamented.
Despite the event being scheduled to commence at 5:30 pm, Odumeje did not arrive until 10:30 pm, further disappointing attendees. Chigekwu recounted the sequence of events, stating, “He dey sing o, as he finishes singing, people kon think to say he go pray before we knew it, Odumeje don disappear.”

Questioning Odumeje’s role, Chigekwu pondered whether the pastor was merely an artist or indeed a spiritual leader, as people had travelled from various parts of the UK, including Scotland and Wales, with the hope of receiving healing prayers.
“People came all the way from Scotland, Wales, different parts of the UK. Some came with their sick ones, old women, for him to pray for healing. Na so Odumeje take to do this thing; he no pray for anybody,” Chigekwu expressed his disappointment.
Highlighting the financial investment made by attendees, Chigekwu revealed that some individuals had paid exorbitant amounts for front-row seats, anticipating prayers from Odumeje. However, they were left disillusioned when prayers were not offered.
“Some came with their sick ones, old women, for him to pray for healing. Na so Odumeje take to do this thing; he no pray for anybody,” Chigekwu reiterated, expressing his disappointment.
Clarifying his intentions, Chigekwu stressed that his aim was not to criticize Odumeje but to raise concerns about the event’s misrepresentation. He emphasized that attendees were not adequately informed about the event’s purpose and only later discovered it was an album launch for Odumeje.
