Fresh Feud as Paul Okoye Accuses Brother Peter of Stealing Song

Nigerian music duo PSquare, made up of twin brothers Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) and Peter Okoye (Mr P), is once again embroiled in controversy following their third breakup earlier this year. This time, Paul has publicly accused Peter of stealing his song and re-recording it.

Paul, known as Rudeboy, took to Instagram to express his anger over Mr P’s new release, “Winning.” According to Rudeboy, he originally wrote and sang the track alongside a producer who later “hijacked” it and passed it to his twin brother. “Song title: Winning. Written and sang by Rudeboy. Produced by the same producer. Now how come?” Paul wrote on Instagram, questioning the circumstances behind the song’s release by Mr P.

Rudeboy accused his brother of copying the song “word for word” and was displeased that it was being re-released without his consent. “Now am I supposed to release another version? Mr Producer, your case is for another day,” Paul remarked, hinting at further issues with the producer involved in the dispute.

In his series of social media posts, Rudeboy revealed frustration with PSquare’s management as well. “Just a simple thing: Bring 6 songs, let me bring 6 songs. I submitted 6 songs to the so-called management. Why re-singing my own song? Word for word. Song that was supposed to be in my album next year, June,” he shared, alleging that his contributions were being manipulated.

The musician also issued a warning, promising to take action if any more of his solo work was replicated. “The days of manipulation are over!! And to the management, make I hear any song wey na only me sing, I go release the original version. Music is not that hard!” he wrote, signaling his readiness to defend his creative rights.

This fresh conflict between the Okoye brothers, who have had a tumultuous relationship over the years, has caught the attention of fans and the music industry. The PSquare duo first split in 2016, reunited briefly, and have since broken up multiple times amid personal and professional disagreements. Their latest public spat suggests that any reconciliation might be a long way off, with both brothers determined to defend their individual work.

Fans of the music duo are reacting with mixed emotions, with some expressing sadness over the ongoing feud and others calling for a peaceful resolution. The drama has also reignited conversations about the challenges of maintaining family and business relationships in the entertainment industry. While the Okoye brothers have not released further comments, all eyes remain on their next moves as tensions appear to be escalating.
