The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has announced plans to review the recent price hikes in MultiChoice cable subscriptions to ensure Nigerian subscribers receive value for their money.
Adamu Abdullahi, the Acting CEO of FCCPC, discussed this development exclusively on Channels Television’s Dateline Abuja program on Thursday.
Abdullahi provided updates on various issues during the interview, including the summons issued to the owner of a Chinese store in Abuja accused of discriminatory and sharp practices. He also addressed the agency’s efforts to enforce compliance with orders given to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, stating that sanctions are forthcoming for verified infractions.

Under the new pricing structure, the Premium package on DSTV, previously priced at N29,500, will now cost N37,000. Similarly, the Compact Plus package, currently priced at N19,800, has been raised to N25,000.
