American heavyweight boxer Jarrell Miller has confidently predicted that Daniel Dubois would knock out Anthony Joshua again if the two British boxers face off in a rematch scheduled for 2025. Joshua, who suffered a shocking fifth-round knockout loss to Dubois at Wembley Stadium last month, has been at the center of discussions about his future in the ring.
Miller, who once had a match scheduled against Joshua in 2019 before it was canceled due to his failed drug test, didn’t hold back in his assessment. “Same outcome,” he told Boxing Scene. “AJ’s still getting knocked out. They’re gonna keep milking the cow until there’s no more milk left,” he added, suggesting that the former two-time heavyweight champion’s career may be coming to an end.
The outspoken Miller believes that Joshua, known for his lucrative earnings and high-profile fights, should consider retirement, especially after suffering multiple knockouts in his career. He further stated, “One more loss, and he calls it quits. One more bad loss—he’s made enough money already. I give everybody the recipe to beating AJ already—he ain’t got no chin; he ain’t got no heart.”
Joshua’s devastating loss to Dubois marked his fourth career defeat, and many in the boxing world, including retired champion Prince Naseem Hamed, have called for Joshua to step away from the sport. Hamed told iFL TV, “He’s done great; he won amazing world titles, defended them, earned his dough. Listen, he should bow out gracefully, and that’s it, done.”
Despite the calls for retirement, Joshua, 34, remains determined to continue. “I want to continue fighting. We took a shot, and we came up short. What are we going to do—walk away? We’re going to live another day,” he stated in a post-fight interview, signaling that he’s not ready to give up just yet.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has also hinted at potential future fights. While a rematch with Dubois remains an option, Hearn revealed that they are considering an even bigger match with Tyson Fury. “It would be frustrating if we made the Dubois rematch and Fury won (against Oleksandr Usyk),” Hearn explained. “Then we’re sitting there going, ‘Hang on a minute, we’re fighting Dubois, but we could have fought Fury in May for the biggest fight in boxing.’ Win or lose, we can fight Fury next summer.”
The rivalry between Joshua and Miller has simmered since their cancelled 2019 bout, with tensions resurfacing last December when the two clashed verbally during an encounter in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Dubois, now 25, has seen his popularity soar after his decisive victory over Joshua. With his recent success, Dubois has cemented his place among boxing’s top contenders, positioning himself for high-profile matchups in the heavyweight division’s future.
