Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy has reached a new milestone, becoming the Nigerian artist with the most entries on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Port Harcourt-born star, whose real name is Damini Ogulu MFR, achieved this latest accolade with his contribution to Coldplay’s track We Pray, featuring Little Simz. The song debuted at number 87 on the chart for the week of October 19, 2024.
Burna Boy’s ascent to global recognition began with his hit single YE, which catapulted him into the spotlight as one of Africa’s most successful musical exports. Over the years, he has gained international acclaim, winning awards, earning Grammy nominations, and selling out renowned venues around the world.
With the addition of We Pray to his Billboard Hot 100 record, Burna Boy now holds six chart entries. His highest-ranking entry remains his smash hit Last Last, which reached number 44 and spent a notable 19 weeks on the chart.
Close behind Burna Boy is Grammy-winning artist Tems, who has achieved five entries on the Billboard Hot 100. Tems made history as the first Nigerian artist to debut at the top of the chart with her feature on Future’s Wait For U. Her success further solidifies her place among Nigeria’s most influential musical talents on the global stage.

Wizkid ranks third among Nigerian artists on the Hot 100, boasting four entries, including his significant contribution to Drake’s One Dance. This collaboration not only made Wizkid the first Afrobeats artist to reach the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 but also marked a major breakthrough for Nigerian music in the global market.
Other Nigerian stars who have made their mark on the Billboard Hot 100 include Rema, CKay, Fireboy DML, Davido, and Lojay, each with one entry. Rema’s Calm Down, featuring Selena Gomez, holds the distinction of being the highest-charting Afrobeats song, peaking at number 3. CKay’s viral hit Love Nwantiti enjoyed a successful run, reaching number 26, while Fireboy DML’s Peru remix featuring Ed Sheeran climbed to number 54.
Davido and Lojay made their Billboard debut through their appearance on Chris Brown’s track Sensational, which peaked at number 94. This achievement underscores the growing global influence of Nigerian music and its ability to resonate with audiences beyond Africa.
