Owodunni Ibrahim, better known as Primeboy, a close associate of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has threatened to take legal action against the late singer’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba. Primeboy has accused her of defamation following claims she made during an online interview regarding his relationship with her son.
In the interview, Mohbad’s mother alleged that Primeboy had frequent altercations with her son and complained about being neglected by Mohbad after he rose to fame. These claims were addressed in a statement issued by Primeboy’s lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, and made public on Saturday.
“In the said interview, you alleged that our client always fought the late Mohbad and consistently complained about his neglect by the late Mohbad since he rose to stardom. You also alleged that our client was advised to run away after the death of Mohbad so as not to be suspected in connection with his death,” the statement read.
Primeboy described these allegations as a serious attack on his character, accusing Mohbad’s mother of deliberately attempting to tarnish his reputation. He claimed that the interview had severely affected the love and support he enjoyed from his fans.
“Your actions are deliberate to injure and traduce the integrity of our client, who is a rising star in the music industry. Your allegations in the interview have greatly and negatively impacted the affection and love our client enjoys from his fans and well-wishers around the world,” the statement further added.
Primeboy has requested that Mohbad’s mother publicly retract her statements within seven days. If she fails to do so, he has threatened to pursue legal action against her for defamation.
Efforts to reach Mohbad’s mother for her response have so far been unsuccessful. As of Sunday evening, she had not responded to calls or text messages.

Mohbad’s body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy as part of ongoing investigations into the cause of his death. The investigation has been marked by conflicting accounts, and legal actions such as the one threatened by Primeboy are adding further complexities to the case.
Primeboy’s lawyer, Ogunbona, had earlier argued in court that more clarity was needed regarding the events leading up to Mohbad’s death, especially claims about a fight that reportedly took place in the singer’s home. The court is expected to hear from witnesses and other key figures involved in the case at a later date.
