The crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State deepened as a new faction emerging from Ganduje’s ward, issued a fresh suspension on the acting National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
This comes after Ganduje was previously suspended by another faction of the party executives in his ward led by Haladu Gwanjo.
Making reference to an alleged corruption and other offenses, Gwanjo stated that the decision to suspend the former Kano governor was made by nine executive members of the party in Ganduje ward.

However, another faction represented by Ahmad Ganduje declared support for the national chairman, asserting satisfaction with his leadership style.
In a new development, the group led by the ward secretary, Jaafar Adamu, disclosed to journalists that eleven out of the twenty-seven executive members of Ganduje ward are the legitimate ward executives legally elected on July 31, 2021, issuing a fresh suspension on Ganduje.
Jaafar, who is also Ganduje’s nephew, explained, “We are the authentic executives of Ganduje ward and have passed a vote of no confidence and imposed a new suspension on Dr. Umar Ganduje for a series of reasons.”
He elaborated that the authentic executives suspended Ganduje for creating internal conflicts among party members at the ward level. Ganduje is also accused of engaging in anti-party activities during the 2023 elections, which contributed to the party’s failure in the state.
Jaafar emphasized that the two factions claiming to be executives were imposters orchestrated by Ganduje and other problematic elements in the party.
As of the time of filing the report, the State Executive Council had not reacted to the latest development in the ongoing crisis within the APC in Kano State.
