The Plateau State Police Command has successfully recovered a stolen Toyota Hiace bus and arrested a suspect connected to the theft.
The police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Alfred Alabo, explained in a statement that officers from the Bukuru Division acted quickly after receiving a report about the missing vehicle.
Alabo said, “Upon receiving a report of the missing vehicle, our gallant operatives attached to Bukuru Division swung into action by executing stop and search within the area.”
Two days after the report, the stolen vehicle was found in the possession of Kabiru Mohammed, a resident of Sabon Gari Narabi in Toro Local Government Area, Bauchi State. The arrest occurred at around 12:45 a.m.
The state Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in Plateau State. He emphasized that no actions threatening the state’s peace would be tolerated.
Adesina also urged the public to support the police and other security agencies by providing timely and accurate information that can help them serve the community more effectively.
