A shocking crime occurred in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, when a middle-aged man, identified as Alfa Ahmed, allegedly killed his grandfather and uncle for a suspected money ritual. The grisly incident took place on Sunday evening at the back of a well-known market in Apete, Ido Local Government Area.
According to The PUNCH, the victims were attacked at their residence, which is located near the market. The grandfather, who was visually impaired, and the uncle, who was reportedly unwell, were both targeted by Ahmed.
An eyewitness shared details of the crime, saying, “The suspect, Alfa Ahmed, took advantage of his grandfather’s blindness and his uncle’s poor health to commit the crime. The attack happened between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.”
Initial reports suggest that Ahmed’s motive was to use parts of the victims’ bodies for a money ritual, a claim that has not yet been officially confirmed. The crime caused significant alarm in the community, leading to residents alerting the police.
In response to the incident, Adewale Osifeso, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that investigations are underway.
