A Kano State High Court has affirmed the suspension of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Justice Usman Malam Na’abba granted an ex parte order on Tuesday, also restraining Ganduje from portraying himself as a party member.
The order, obtained following an ex parte motion filed by Haladu Gwanjo and Laminu Sani, was brought on behalf of the executive members of APC Ganduje ward.

The plaintiffs, identified as executive members of APC Ganduje ward, filed the motion through their counsel Ibrahim Sa’ad.
Haladu Gwanjo, the party’s ward Legal Adviser, had announced Ganduje’s suspension two days prior to the court order.
The court directed Ganduje to refrain from presiding over all affairs of the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC.
This decision follows the State Working Committee of the APC in Kano’s announcement of the suspension of ward party leaders who initially declared Ganduje’s suspension.
The court’s ruling establishes a legal backing for the suspension of Ganduje and prohibits him from exercising his roles within the party’s NWC.
This development emphasizes the internal conflicts within the APC in Kano State and raises questions about the future leadership of the party in the region.
