FC Barcelona, in partnership with Spotify, brought together the worlds of football and music during their preseason tour in the United States.
The club collaborated with global Afrobeats sensation Rema and reggaeton artist Blessd to create a unique experience for both players and fans. The tour included stops in Orlando and New York, where the team engaged in matches, practice sessions, and exclusive music events.
Rema, the Nigerian artist known for his hit song “Calm Down,” became the first musician to take over the Barça on Tour playlist on Spotify. He curated the playlist with tracks from his latest album HEIS, as well as hits from artists like Tems, Burna Boy, Camila Cabello, and Gunna.
Rema’s rise to fame has been marked by his distinct sound and artistic excellence, making him a fitting choice to soundtrack Barcelona’s journey. In 2023, his album was Spotify’s most-streamed Afrobeats album, and his collaboration with Selena Gomez on “Calm Down” was the most-streamed Afrobeats track of the year.
The collaboration kicked off when FC Barcelona arrived in Orlando, where they were greeted by Blessd on the training field. The Colombian reggaeton star joined the players in a friendly competition featuring his new song “Mirame.”
After the challenge, Barça stars like Robert Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde, Raphinha, and Ronald Araújo presented Blessd with a personalized Barcelona jersey. Blessd also supported the team during their first friendly match at Camping World Stadium, proudly wearing his new shirt.
The tour continued in New York, where FC Barcelona played a friendly El Clásico match at MetLife Stadium. The event attracted stars such as Davido, Olamide, and Zlatan Ibile.
Before the game, Rema took to the pitch in a personalized Barça jersey, interacting with fans and sharing his predictions for the match. His new album, HEIS, was prominently featured on the stadium’s LED boards.
In addition to the on-field action, FC Barcelona players participated in a listening party at KidSuper Studios in New York. Players like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Alejandro Balde, and Jules Koundé joined Rema to listen to tracks from HEIS and even engaged in a mini football game.
Rema also taught the players the choreography to his new song “AZAMAN,” highlighting it as the perfect dance for post-game celebrations.
The U.S. preseason tour demonstrated the growing synergy between football and music, with Spotify and FC Barcelona leading the way in creating memorable experiences for fans.
