Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has become one of Europe’s youngest club owners by purchasing a majority stake in French Ligue 2 side Caen. At just 25 years old, Mbappe has agreed to pay nearly €20 million to acquire most of the shares in the club.
Mbappe’s deal makes him the majority shareholder, while Pierre-Antin Capton will hold the remaining shares, valued at €5 million. This investment marks a significant milestone in Mbappe’s career, showing his interest in football management alongside his playing career.
Mbappe, who recently became the highest earner at Real Madrid with net wages of €15 million per year, has accumulated significant wealth from his endorsements and signing bonuses. Forbes valued his endorsement deals at $20 million in early 2024, highlighting his financial success.
Interestingly, Mbappe nearly signed for Caen as a youngster. The club saw his potential, and his family considered it a suitable environment for his development. However, the deal fell through when Caen was relegated from Ligue 1.
