The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has warned against planned nationwide protests targeting President Bola Tinubu’s administration. The forum believes such actions would harm the country’s progress.
Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, Chairman of the North Central APC Forum, spoke to journalists in Jos, Plateau State, on Monday. He urged those organizing the protests to reconsider, stating, “President Tinubu is working hard to put the country on a growth path. Nigerians should support him instead of creating distractions with protests.”
Zazzaga criticized the motivations behind the protests, suggesting they are driven by selfish interests and political agendas rather than genuine concern for the country’s well-being. He added, “Many of these protest organizers are sponsored by enemies of the country and the government.”

Zazzaga also cautioned against holding protests in the North Central region due to the current security challenges. He explained, “The region is dealing with kidnappings, banditry, and other criminal activities. A protest could be hijacked by hoodlums, causing further harm to law-abiding citizens.”
He pointed to past incidents, such as the #EndSARS protests, which escalated into ethno-religious violence in Jos. Zazzaga recalled, “During the #EndSARS protests, we had to work hard to calm the situation and protect both Christians and Muslims from harm.”
The chairman urged APC members and leaders in the North Central region to campaign against the protests. He called on governors, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and other influential figures to advise their communities against participating. “Given our region’s unique challenges, we cannot afford additional unrest,” Zazzaga stressed.
