Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed confidence despite a recent Appeal Court decision. The court overturned a previous order from the Rivers State High Court, which had stopped Martin Amaewhule and 24 other lawmakers from acting as legislators. The Appeal Court ruled that only the Federal High Court has the authority to handle this case.
Governor Fubara assured the public that his administration remains focused on developing the state. He made this statement after inspecting reconstruction work at the Zonal Hospital in Bori Town. “We have made our promises, and we will continue to give you good governance, no matter how difficult it is,” Fubara said.

Addressing concerns about the court’s decision, Fubara referenced Psalm 23:5 from the Bible, saying, “God prepares a table before you; it can be before anybody. But there is an underlined word that should be noted there: it said ‘in the presence of your enemies’. So, it means that nothing comes easy.”
Fubara highlighted key areas his administration will focus on, including healthcare, education, and agriculture. “We are satisfied with what we are seeing here,” he said about the hospital project. He also announced plans to visit other project sites in Degema, Ahoada, and Omoku next week.
“We are assuring the good people of this senatorial district that we will make sure that we put it to completion and good use,” Fubara added, emphasizing the importance of the hospital for the entire region, including his own constituency, Opobo/Nkoro.
