Justice Janet Gimba, a customary court judge in Kaduna State, has been released by her kidnappers. However, her three children remain in captivity. The kidnappers had earlier killed the couple’s eldest son, 14-year-old Victor, two days before her release.
Dr. Musa Gimba, the judge’s husband, confirmed her release and said the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N150 million for the children’s freedom.

The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed Justice Gimba’s release and Victor’s tragic murder. Police spokesperson ASP Mansir Hassan assured the public that authorities are working hard to secure the release of the remaining hostages and catch the kidnappers.
He stated that Victor’s body was found at Ungwan Bayero, Duste village near the toll gate along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Tuesday, July 2.
