The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has established a Disciplinary Team to investigate two officers accused of assaulting a female employee at Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos.
The incident, captured in a viral video, occurred during an early morning sting operation on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Olukoyede ordered the immediate arrest of the two officers involved and directed them to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team. This team includes members from the Appointment, Promotion, and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) and the Department of Ethics and Integrity. The officers are scheduled to face the team on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the EFCC’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

In a press statement, Head of Media and Publicity, EFCC, Dele Oyewale stated, “Olukoyede ordered the arrest of the two officers and has directed them to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team comprising the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee, APDC and the Department of Ethics and Integrity.
“They are billed to appear before the Team on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Corporate Headquarters of the Commission, Abuja.
“The team would look into the case of the officers and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures to be taken against them.”
The purpose of the Disciplinary Team is to thoroughly investigate the officers’ actions and recommend suitable disciplinary measures. Olukoyede emphasized the importance of holding the officers accountable for their unprofessional behavior. “No stone will be left unturned in getting the officers to account for their unprofessional conduct,” he stated.
