In a remarkable event, twenty-three sets of twins graduated from Pollard Middle School in Needham, Massachusetts. This unique group of twins made up about 10% of the eighth-grade class, creating a memorable and unusual graduation ceremony.
On Wednesday, these identical and fraternal twins walked across the stage to receive their diplomas. Principal Tamatha Bibbo highlighted the significance of this event, noting that having such a high number of twins is uncommon. “We typically have anywhere from five to 10 sets at most. Given our numbers, we have approximately 450 to 500 children in each grade, so this was extraordinarily high,” Bibbo explained.
One more student, who is a twin, also graduated but her brother attends a different school, adding to the overall number of twins in the class. The school took the opportunity to give a special shout-out to the 23 sets of twins during their “moving up” ceremony, celebrating this unique aspect of the graduating class.
