Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football superstar, has experienced a surprising setback at Euro 2024. For the first time in his career, he did not score during the group stage of a major international tournament.
Ronaldo’s only contribution to Portugal’s first three games in Germany was an assist to Bruno Fernandes during their 3-0 victory over Turkey. He failed to score in any of the Group F matches, including a 2-0 loss to Georgia on Wednesday, where he was also booked for dissent.
