Nigerian rap star Olamide, also known as Baddo, has described Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as his “troublesome friends,” while stressing that their friendship remains strong despite occasional disagreements.
Speaking on the Afrobeats Podcast with Adesope Olajide on Monday, Olamide explained that the bond between the “big four” goes beyond music.
“Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy are all my friends; they are just too troublesome. They are cool dudes; it’s just that sometimes many can’t align on so many things, and that’s fine,” he said.
Olamide also shared details about his latest collaboration with Wizkid on Kia. He revealed that during the video shoot, Wizkid heard another track from his album, Billionaire’s Club, and asked to join in immediately.
“He was like, na this one you for give me… I really like this one. I did not think he would like that one. But I just made that record the day before the shoot,” Olamide said.
He praised Wizkid for his support, saying, “I’m grateful to God for Wiz and for his endless love and support. God bless him, man. That’s a solid dude right there.”

The rapper also reflected on his long career, which includes more than ten projects, global tours, and a recent collaboration with American rap legend Dr Dre. As a music executive, he has helped discover and grow stars such as Fireboy DML, Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold, Young Jonn, and Asake.
Olamide said his drive to support new artists came from his early struggles.
“I grew up hoping and praying that I could see some opportunities, and I didn’t get them. So I took it upon myself that if I ever make it big, I’m going to create opportunities for others,” he said.
He credited his success to faith, adding, “Whatever it is you want to be in life, one thing you should not joke with is God. Nothing extraordinary can really happen if the universe doesn’t align for you.”
Olamide is set to headline a major show at the OVO Arena in London on November 23, 2025, a move expected to further strengthen his global influence in Afrobeats.
