Young Barcelona star Lamine Yamal is reportedly unhappy with the club after they signed England international Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United.
According to El Nacional, the 18-year-old Spanish winger feels disappointed and misled by Barcelona. During his recent contract renewal, the club reportedly told Yamal that Nico Williams of Athletic Club was their only target for the left wing. Yamal had hoped to play alongside Williams, just as they do in the Spain national team.
“I was promised something different,” Yamal is believed to have told those close to him, expressing frustration over the club’s sudden change of plans.
Yamal and Williams have a strong friendship from their time together in the national team, and Yamal looked forward to continuing that connection at Barcelona. But instead of signing Williams, Barcelona brought in Rashford after failing to activate Williams’ €58 million release clause.

Barcelona had tried to sign Williams, but Athletic Bilbao filed a complaint against the club with LaLiga. The Basque club later secured Williams with a ten-year contract extension until 2035.
Despite the difficulties, Yamal believes the club should have done more to bring Williams to Camp Nou. He also feels hurt that Barcelona did not inform him before completing the Rashford deal.
Yamal, one of Barça’s brightest young stars, is now said to be feeling frustrated and left out of key decisions that affect his role in the team.
This situation has raised concerns within the club, especially as Yamal was expected to be one of the main faces of Barcelona’s future attack.
