Gunmen have kidnapped Barrister Yusuf Musa, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism in Nasarawa State. He was taken from his home in Ungwan Nungu, Lafia Local Government Area, in the early hours of Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Barrister Musa is a former General Manager of the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS).
Police officers from the “B” Division discovered something was wrong when they saw a parked Peugeot pickup van with all its doors open near his house. Upon checking further, they found the gate to his residence also wide open. A search confirmed that Musa was missing, along with his GMC vehicle, which has the registration number KUJ 88 PA.
The police immediately suspected a case of abduction and launched an investigation.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident.
“The Nasarawa State Police Command has begun a comprehensive investigation into the suspected abduction of Barr. Yusuf Musa,” he said in a statement.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, had ordered a full-scale manhunt.

“The Commissioner activated a tactical operation, alerted all police divisions in the state, and deployed surveillance to track the fleeing suspects,” the statement read.
The command also urged the public to remain calm and report any useful information.
“We are committed to rescuing the victim unhurt and arresting those responsible,” Nansel assured.
