Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has denied reports linking him to campaign posters promoting him for the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The posters, which appeared in parts of Abuja this week, sparked speculation that Bello was eyeing the top party position. But his media team says the posters were not from him and should be ignored.
In a statement on Thursday, the Yahaya Bello Media Office in Lokoja described the posters as the work of “mischief makers.”
“They are at it again, having failed on many fronts in their desperate ‘bring-him-down-at-all-costs’ mission,” said Michael Ohiare, the media office’s director.

Ohiare said Bello remains loyal to the APC and fully supports President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
“As a committed party man, his support for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership has never been in doubt,” he said.
He added that Bello respects party rules and would not act outside proper procedures.
“Since this is not the first time mischief makers have printed posters in his name, silence is no longer an option. No one has been authorised, directly or indirectly, to print or paste any poster on Yahaya Bello’s behalf,” Ohiare stated.
He urged the public to ignore the posters, calling them an attempt to embarrass the former governor.
Yahaya Bello completed his second term as governor of Kogi State in January 2024.
