Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, as the new General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club.
The announcement came on Friday after the governor approved the reconstitution of the club’s 17-member management board to prepare for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Governor Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said in a statement that the decision followed wide consultations with key football stakeholders after the previous board’s one-year term ended.
“The inclusion of Ahmed Musa reflects our desire to blend administrative competence with football experience. We believe his presence will inspire players, attract investment, and rekindle supporters’ enthusiasm,” the statement said.

The previous management helped the club finish 9th place in the last NPFL season. Most of them have been reappointed, along with new members to add fresh energy and ideas.
