The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old man, Mohammed Umar, for dressing and pretending to be a woman.
Police said they arrested Umar at the premises of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, located in the Ngurore area of Yola South Local Government Area.
According to the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, a resident noticed Umar’s unusual movements inside the church premises and quickly reported it to the police at the Ngurore Divisional Headquarters.

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Dankombo Morris, has ordered that the case be taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yola for a full and careful investigation.
Nguroje assured the public that the police would continue to protect lives and property. He also urged citizens to remain watchful and report any suspicious activity.
He said, “The command remains committed to ensuring public safety and order. We encourage residents to stay vigilant and give timely reports of suspicious movement to the police.”
