Popular Nigerian singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, has responded to a tribal comment on social media, saying he has Igbo roots and is proud of them.
The comment came from an X (formerly Twitter) user, @Yakbel, who warned Davido to stay away from the Igbo people. The post claimed that Igbos would betray him and said a Yoruba man should not be close to Igbos.
“Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest. Yoruba boy dey frolick with Igbos in 2025, they want your head and everything you have to belong to them. You can never satisfy Ibo ooo. IBOs are not people you surround yourself with as a Yoruba man,” the user wrote.
Davido quickly shut down the tribal remark with a short but powerful reply: “Lol, I AM IGBO by blood.”
His response went viral and drew praise from many Nigerians who saw it as a strong message against tribalism and a show of national unity.
