A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu helped secure a job for his daughter at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
Galadima, a prominent member of the Kwankwasiyya political movement and a known critic of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), made this surprising disclosure during an interview on African Independent Television (AIT) on Wednesday.
Despite his frequent criticism of Tinubu’s administration, Galadima said he still enjoys a friendly relationship with the President.
He said during the program, “We are friends and will continue to be friends,” he said during the program. “If I want anything from him, I can ask.”
My Daughter Used My Phone to Call Tinubu
Narrating how his daughter got the job, Galadima said the opportunity came after she used his phone to directly call President Tinubu.
“Let me confess on national television,” Galadima said. “My daughter used my phone to call the President, and the President picked up thinking it was me.”
According to him, his children told President Tinubu during the call that the country was hard and that their father could not assist them.
“They told Tinubu, ‘Our father cannot do this for us, but he told us you are his friend.’ One of them said she had just finished her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and could not get a job with the NUPRC,” Galadima explained.
He said President Tinubu responded immediately by giving an order to help.
“Tinubu just said, ‘Call Komolafe. Go and give my friend’s daughter a job,’” Galadima recounted, referring to Gbenga Komolafe, the Chief Executive Officer of the NUPRC.
Galadima added that his daughter is now planning to travel to Mecca in Saudi Arabia to express her gratitude.
“She wants to go to Mecca to thank God and to thank even Mr. President,” he said.

Worked for Buhari Without Pay
Galadima also claimed that the same daughter had previously worked under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari for four years without receiving any salary.
“My daughter worked for him for four years and he instructed that she should not be paid salary,” Galadima alleged.
He challenged anyone to bring proof that she was paid.
“Let them bring any voucher where she was paid. She worked for Buhari for four years in Osinbajo’s office without payment,” he added.
