Operatives of the Nigeria Police have arrested Adura Aloba, the younger brother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, alongside his friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, also known as King White. The arrest took place on Wednesday at the premises of the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State.
The duo had attended a legal proceeding concerning a phone that Adura sold to one Damola Ayinde. Shortly after the court session, they were whisked away by security operatives.
Mother Cries for Help
Following the arrest, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Aloba, appeared in a viral video, tearfully pleading for help to locate her son. She accused Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi and one Sam Jojo of orchestrating what she described as an “abduction.”
“Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him. He asked them to take my son away. My son did nothing to them. They must not lay a hand on him, he is sick,” she wailed in Yoruba.
Abosede also mentioned Damola Ayinde, claiming that Mohbad’s spirit would fight him for his role in the ongoing controversy.
Background of the Dispute
The legal battle began in December 2024 when Fabiyi filed a petition against Adura. He accused the late singer’s brother of initiating an Instagram chat, allegedly claiming to have a video of how Mohbad died. According to Fabiyi, Adura demanded ₦3 million in Bitcoin in exchange for the evidence.
However, Adura denied the allegations, stating that the messages came from Ayinde, the buyer of his old phone. A forensic investigation was conducted, and the court has been probing the case.
In response to the accusations, Adura demanded a public apology from Fabiyi and others, alleging that they hacked his TikTok account to tarnish his reputation. He also filed an N1 billion lawsuit against them for defamation, tampering with evidence, and making fraudulent claims to implicate him.

Tension at the Court
A family source, who spoke anonymously, linked the arrest to a confrontation between Koleosho and Fabiyi outside the courtroom.
“We don’t know the whereabouts of Adura, but I can confirm that his friend, Koleosho, was arrested after the court proceedings today. Everything happened so suddenly. We learned that there had been some exchange of words between Koleosho and Fabiyi over the phone issue, and this may have led to the arrest,” the source said.
The source added that the family had been trying to trace where the security operatives had taken them.
Police Confirmation
A police officer familiar with the case confirmed to PUNCH Metro that the arrests were carried out by operatives of the Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan, Lagos.
“Yes, they were arrested by the police operatives from Zone 2, Onikan, not men of the Lagos State Command,” the source disclosed.
When asked about the reasons behind the arrest, the officer directed reporters to contact the zonal police spokesperson, Ayuba Umma. However, all efforts to reach her were unsuccessful, as she did not respond to calls or messages at the time of this report.
Meanwhile, Yomi Fabiyi, whose petition led to the legal tussle, did not respond to calls or text messages seeking his comment on the development.
As of Wednesday night, the whereabouts of Adura remained unknown, deepening concerns among family members and supporters of the late singer. The family continues to call for transparency and justice, urging authorities to reveal where he is being held.
