A 32-year-old woman, Loveth Alo, has been taken to court for giving a false testimony in a Lagos church, where she claimed to own a mansion.
Police in Enugu said Alo was arrested on February 1 after a petition was filed against her. She was arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court on multiple charges, including obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony.
According to the police spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe, Alo confessed during interrogation that she acted alone.
Ndukwe said, “She admitted to giving a fake testimony and making false claims about owning a house.
“She allegedly presented the property as hers during a testimony at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos.
“In a viral video, she testified that God had blessed her with the acquisition of the house.
“Footage of the building was displayed in the church as she spoke.

“In another viral video, she allegedly claimed to have purchased the house for N200 million,” Mr Ndukwe added.
The case started when Alo testified at Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos. In a viral video from the church service, she claimed that God had blessed her with a five-bedroom duplex at WTC Estate, Enugu. The church even showed footage of the building as she spoke
However, after receiving a complaint, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department’s Legal Section investigated the matter. The petition revealed that Alo was not the real owner of the house she had testified about.
The court granted her bail, and the case was adjourned to April 9, 2025, for further hearing.
