Former Kano State Governor and leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has declared that his party will win the 2027 presidential election, defeating both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking at the NNPP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, Kwankwaso expressed confidence that Nigerians are ready to reject the current administration due to widespread dissatisfaction with its style of governance.
“I believe if there is an election, and it is a free and fair election in this country, our party will defeat the APC, PDP, and other parties,” Kwankwaso stated.
NNPP Is United Despite Division Claims
Addressing reports of division within the NNPP, Kwankwaso insisted that the party remains strong and united. He dismissed those claiming otherwise, accusing them of working against the interests of Nigerians for personal financial gain.
“Once some people are making some claims, I believe that silence is the best answer to a fool, even though the fools are benefiting because they are collecting a lot of money from the enemies of the people in this country,” he said.
He criticized those still using the party’s old logo, likening their actions to members of defunct political parties still holding on to past identities.
“It’s just like those people who were in CPC or ACN going around with their logos while APC is in the government house. That’s the exact situation; nobody, especially INEC, remembers those logos,” Kwankwaso added.

‘Nigerians Are Unhappy with APC’
Kwankwaso, who was the NNPP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, said Nigerians have lost faith in the APC government, which he blamed for worsening poverty, insecurity, and infrastructural decay.
“We are all aware of the difficulties PDP is facing, all the challenges the APC is facing because we all know that it is very difficult to remember anybody happy with the government of APC at all levels, especially at the national level,” he said.
“Nigerians have witnessed the kind of difficulties that we have never seen in the history of this country. Poverty is everywhere. We have seen insecurity, the infrastructure has decayed, and we have not seen any efforts to renew them,” he added.
Kwankwaso Assures Nigerians of a Better Future
Kwankwaso assured Nigerians that the NNPP is the best alternative for 2027 and vowed to lead the country towards progress and development if elected president.
Hailing Nigerians for their support, he urged them to remain hopeful, promising a brighter future under an NNPP-led government.
With growing dissatisfaction over economic hardship and security challenges, political analysts believe the 2027 election could be highly competitive, with new political alliances possibly reshaping the country’s political landscape.
