The family of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has declared him missing and asked for help from the Department of State Services (DSS).
In a petition dated February 7 and signed by their lawyer, Wilson Anuge, the Idibia family stated that 2Baba had not been seen since February 10, 2025. They explained that he left his home that morning in his loungewear, seemingly for his usual morning walk, but never returned.
“We Are Deeply Worried” — Idibia Family
The family expressed their deep concern over his disappearance, noting that neither they, his staff, nor his record label had been able to reach him.
“We believe that Mr Innocent left his residence in the early hours of 10 February 2025 in his loungewear, suggesting that he was going for his habitual walk, but he has not returned home since then,” the petition read.
They also noted that this was highly unusual for the singer, as he had never disappeared or abandoned his work without notice.
“This disturbing situation, coupled with the fact that those who should have heard from him have not done so for over 72 hours, has left his entire family deeply concerned,” the petition added.

Suspicious Messages and Possible Foul Play
Adding to their worry, some of 2Baba’s close friends reported receiving messages from his social media accounts asking for financial assistance.
“These messages are alarming, as Mr Innocent is financially independent and has never required assistance in such a manner,” the family stated. “This has led his family to suspect that his identity may have been compromised and that someone may have abducted him, actively manipulating him to exploit his contacts for monetary gain.”
The family fears foul play and has urged the DSS to use its expertise to locate the singer.
“Our humble request is that you intervene urgently to investigate, locate, and rescue the victim from wherever the suspect is currently detaining him,” the petition stated.
Viral Video Sparks Controversy
The news of 2Baba’s disappearance comes amid a viral video showing him proposing to Natasha Osaruwa, a lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly. This video surfaced just hours after reports claimed he was planning to divorce his wife, Annie Idibia.
The situation has fueled speculation, with some questioning whether 2Baba is missing or simply avoiding public scrutiny.

Meanwhile, 2Baba’s mother, Rose Idibia, released an emotional video on Friday, pleading for help.
