The mother of popular Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba, has made a public plea to Hon. Natasha Osawuru, asking her to stay away from her son.
Mrs. Rose Idibia, in an emotional video that went viral on Thursday evening, called on Nigerian mothers to help her beg the Edo State lawmaker to “free” 2Baba. She claimed that her son was not in his right senses due to his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia.
Please Remove the Beads and Free Him’ – 2Baba’s Mother
Speaking in the video, Mrs. Idibia expressed deep concern over her son’s recent actions, particularly his marriage proposal to Osawuru.
“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2Face. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son,” she pleaded.
She alleged that Natasha had placed beads on 2Baba’s hand and neck, which she believed had influenced his behavior.
“My son is going through a divorce process, and he is clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son well. That is not him. Please, Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him,” she added.

Mrs. Idibia’s emotional plea followed a viral video showing 2Baba proposing to Hon. Natasha Osawaru, the granddaughter of billionaire businessman Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion. The video captured the singer and the Edo lawmaker dancing happily before he presented her with a ring. The two then embraced for a long time, while friends cheered them on.
The proposal came just a day after 2Baba publicly confirmed his relationship with Osawaru, sending social media into a frenzy. Many fans were shocked, as it followed his recent separation from Annie Macaulay-Idibia.
I Love Natasha, and I Want to Marry Her’ – 2Baba
Amid the controversy surrounding his new relationship, 2Baba addressed the public backlash in an Instagram video on Tuesday. He defended Osawaru, insisting that she had no role in his breakup with Annie.
“Allegedly, I have seen so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted,” he said.
He condemned those accusing Osawaru of being a homewrecker, saying she was an amazing person who had nothing to do with his marital issues.
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker. She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage. Yes, I love her. She is amazing, and she is cool. I want to marry her,” he declared.
Before the official confirmation, rumors had been circulating about 2Baba’s involvement with Natasha Osawaru. The speculation grew stronger after he was seen at the Edo State Assembly and later spotted with Osawaru at a Lagos club.
His revelation has sparked mixed reactions, with some fans supporting his decision while others criticize him for moving on so quickly. Meanwhile, many are questioning the influence of Osawaru in his life, especially following his mother’s concerns.
