Popular gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has accused her former manager, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as EeZee Tee, of exploitation, threats to her life, and spreading false rumors about her child’s paternity. Chinwo shared these revelations in a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, where she detailed her experiences with her former manager.
According to the singer, EeZee Tee created a hostile environment that forced her to relocate from Lagos to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for her safety. “A man claimed I sued him, came online, and made videos to tarnish my image,” Chinwo said. “He looked at me and said, ‘I made you who you are, and I will destroy you.’ I became scared for my life and had to move because he made the environment toxic for me.”
Chinwo also alleged that her former manager financed false reports about her child’s paternity out of hatred for fellow gospel artist Pastor Nathaniel Bassey. “One of my major crimes was doing a song with Pastor Nathaniel Bassey. Because this man hates him, he sponsored fake news about my son, claiming my child was not mine,” she revealed.
In addition, the singer accused EeZee Tee of attempting to manipulate her career by coercing her to sign a 12-year contract, which she refused. She claimed that after rejecting the offer, he withheld her royalties for two years and forged new contracts. “I served you as a father. I was once your backup singer and worked diligently. You tried to convince me to sign a 12-year contract, but I refused. Since then, you’ve acted funny and toxic,” Chinwo explained.
The singer clarified that she never initiated legal action against her former manager, as previously reported, but instead stated that EeZee Tee was the one who sued her. “This is not to paint him bad. He took me to court and made it public, claiming I sued him. I have documents to prove this,” she said, adding that he also took fellow gospel singer Minister Judikay to court.

Chinwo expressed frustration over EeZee Tee’s alleged attempts to tarnish her image, using bloggers to spread negative narratives about her. “You said you would deal with me because you have connections and money, but you are not God. You cannot destroy me. The worst you can do is what you are doing now, but I know God will not let your plans succeed,” she declared.
The emotional toll of the ordeal has weighed heavily on Chinwo, as she shared in her caption accompanying the video. “I am overwhelmed with sadness every single day. People call me names, accuse me unjustly, and label me as something I could never be. But I know the truth, and I know my God sees all. He is the God of justice, and He must arise for my sake,” she wrote.
This controversy follows an earlier incident in April 2024 when Nathaniel Bassey requested the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to investigate individuals who falsely accused him of fathering Mercy Chinwo’s child.
