Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win at least 95% of votes in the state during the 2027 general elections.
He made the statement on Saturday at a mega rally held at Murtala Square, Kaduna, where four members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, five members of the House of Representatives, and thousands of their supporters defected to the APC.
With the new defections, the APC now controls 13 of the 16 House of Representatives seats from Kaduna and 26 of the 34 seats in the State House of Assembly, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with three and eight seats respectively.
Governor Sani, while welcoming the defectors, assured them that the APC treats all members equally.
“APC is one family that does not discriminate. Those that joined today and those who have been with us since the beginning will enjoy the same privilege,” he said.
He urged party members to stay connected to the grassroots and work for the people who elected them.
“What is important is your ability to carry everyone along, especially the people of your constituency,” he said.
The governor recalled that in 2023, APC had only four members of the House of Representatives from Kaduna, but the number has now risen to 14.
“Today in Kaduna, we don’t have any opposition. I promised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu some months ago that we were looking at 80 percent of the votes. But today, I have shifted my ground; about 95 percent of the total votes in Kaduna State will go to APC in 2027,” Sani said.
Sani said the growing support for APC in the state was due to his administration’s focus on justice, fairness, and inclusiveness.
“Our state is the most diverse in Nigeria. We used our diversity as strength, and that’s why we’ve not had one single ethno-religious crisis since we came in. Poverty has no respect for religion or ethnicity. We must work together as one family for the progress of Kaduna State,” he said.

APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, described the party as “the promised land” for Nigerian politicians and praised both President Tinubu and Governor Sani for their performance. “They deserve a second term,” he said.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, also praised APC’s dominance in Kaduna.
“Today, whether in Zone 1, Zone 2, or Zone 3, APC is the party to beat. We’ve never been this strong before,” he said.
Speaking for the defectors, Hon. Hussaini Jalo thanked President Tinubu and Governor Sani for their leadership.
“Kaduna is now a one-party state. Both President Tinubu and Governor Sani will be re-elected for a second term,” he declared.
Among those who joined the APC were federal lawmakers Sadiq Ango (Sabon Gari), Abdulkarim Husseini Ahmad (Kaduna South), Aliyu Mustapha Abdullahi (Ikara/Kubau), and Hussaini Jalo (Igabi).
Other prominent defectors included former senators Danjuma Lah, Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, and Shehu Sani, as well as former Kaduna governor Muktar Ramalan Yero and the PDP State Secretary, Saidu Adamu.
