Nigerian music legend 2Baba, whose real name is Innocent Idibia, has tied the knot with Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru in a quiet traditional wedding ceremony.
Photos and videos from the event, which surfaced online on Thursday, showed the couple dressed in elegant traditional attire. The ceremony was private, but the visuals have since gone viral on social media.
2Baba wore a white short-sleeved native shirt with grey embroidery, a white wrapper, coral beads, and dark sunglasses. He held a beaded staff, completing his royal look.
Natasha stunned in a red off-shoulder dress and the traditional Edo ‘okuku’ coral crown. Her neck, arms, and shoulders were adorned with coral beads, representing her cultural heritage.
This marriage comes just six months after 2Baba’s separation from his longtime wife of 12 years, actress Annie Macaulay. Despite public attention, 2Baba has said that his new relationship had “no bearing” on his split from Annie.
“Annie is an amazing woman. But our decision to go separate ways was mutual and peaceful,” 2Baba said during an interview on the 234 Mzansi podcast.

Their relationship became public in February 2025 when 2Baba proposed on Valentine’s Eve. In April, Natasha visited his mother, Mrs. Rose Idibia, whose emotional reaction in a viral video caused a stir. She had asked Natasha to “remove the beads” from her son, suggesting spiritual concerns. However, Mrs. Idibia later gave the couple her blessing, which many saw as a sign of family acceptance.
2Baba, now serving as Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, offered marriage advice to couples: “If a marriage isn’t working, fix it. If it still doesn’t work, don’t stay just because of society.”
“Only the people inside know what they are going through. This thing they call ‘living in bondage’ is real,” he said.
Annie confirmed their split during the 17th Headies Awards in Lagos on April 28, marking the end of a love story that began in 1999. The former couple had one child in 2008, got engaged in 2012, and married in a grand ceremony in Dubai in 2013. Despite renewing their vows in 2022, their marriage faced many challenges, especially involving 2Baba’s relationship with Pero Adeniyi, mother of three of his children.
