Police in Akwa Ibom State have arrested a 40-year-old man, Pius Pius, for allegedly being a cultist and vandal. Officers found a human skull and stolen electricity equipment in his possession.
The arrest happened on Sunday, July 20, at No. 80 School Road, Oku Abak in Abak Local Government Area. Police say they acted on strong information from the public.
“Police operatives arrested a suspected cultist and vandal who specialises in damaging transformers and electric cables,” said DSP Timfon John, the spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
She explained that officers searched Pius’s room and found shocking items. “A human skull, one transformer step-down insulator, one circuit breaker, one electric meter, and fuses were all recovered from him,” DSP John said.

During questioning, Pius reportedly admitted he is a member of the Iceland Confraternity, a secret group known for destroying public infrastructure.
“Investigation into the matter is ongoing. Further developments will be communicated as they unfold,” DSP John added.
