Former President Muhammadu Buhari has died. He passed away on Sunday afternoon at a hospital in the United Kingdom.
His former spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, confirmed the news in a statement released on Sunday.
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London,” Shehu said.
He added, “May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus.”

As of now, details about the cause of his death have not been made public.
Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023, was known for his strong stance against corruption and efforts to improve national security.
