Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has donated millions of naira to Islamic schools and health institutions in Kaduna State as he steps up his campaign activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Obi, who plans to run again for president, said his donations reflect his strong commitment to education, healthcare, and human capital development.
While speaking during his visit to Kaduna on Wednesday, Obi said he gave support to four institutions, including Islamic and health schools, to show that no part of the country should be left behind in development.
“I visited the Madarasatul Hidayyatul Auladi Muslimima Almajiri School in Kawo. This is about my fifth visit to the school. I donated an additional ₦5 million because no child deserves to be left behind when it comes to education. No matter their location, we must take education to them,” Obi said.

Obi also visited the Muhammad Sambo Memorial Islamic Institute, which was founded by Sheikh Yusuf Sambo Rigachukwu, and offered financial support to the school.
He said his next stop was Womenhood College of Health Sciences and Technology in Kaduna, where he donated another ₦5 million.
“I recognise the important role the college plays in training and empowering women in the health sector, especially those who serve in rural areas,” Obi said.
Obi then visited St. Gerald’s College of Nursing Sciences and donated ₦10 million to support their efforts.
“While speaking to the students, I emphasised that when we invest in education and healthcare, we’re not just building schools or hospitals. We are building the future of a secure, productive, and united Nigeria,” he said.
