The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on Kwalajiya village in Tangaza Local Government Area, calling it a “barbaric and heart-wrenching tragedy.”
In a statement released on Friday and signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal, the PDP expressed sadness over the killing of 15 people and the injury of seven others during the Lakurawa attack earlier this week.
“Our hearts go out to the families of the 15 innocent lives lost and the seven others who sustained injuries. The PDP Sokoto State Chapter is shocked and outraged by the recent Lakurawa terrorist attack on Kwalajiya village in Tangaza,” the statement read.
The party called on security agencies to act quickly and arrest the attackers. It also asked the Sokoto State Government to send more security personnel to the area to stop further violence and assist affected residents.

The PDP assured the people of Tangaza of its full support, saying the safety of citizens must always come first.
“This latest attack is one too many.We demand that the Federal Government rise to its constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property,” the party said.
The PDP also urged the Federal Government to take stronger and lasting steps to tackle insecurity in Sokoto and across Nigeria.
The statement ended with a call for unity: “We reaffirm our commitment to standing with all communities affected by insecurity and call for a united front in tackling the scourge of terrorism and banditry across Nigeria.”
