Police in Anambra State have arrested six men and seized a large quantity of hard drugs during a raid on a drug den in Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area.
The operation took place in the early hours of June 25, 2025, and was carried out by officers from the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugwu Ukwu.
In a statement released on Thursday, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the raid followed a directive from the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu.
He explained that the Commissioner had observed a strong link between drug use and rising crime rates in the state.
“The CP has emphasised the significant role that substance abuse plays in fueling crime and has directed a major clampdown on all criminal activities in Oko and its environs,” Ikenga said.
