UK-born singer, Becca Diamond, says she wants to make history by becoming the first white woman to succeed in the Afrobeats music scene.
Becca, whose real name is Rebecca Ward, shared her dream in an interview, saying she wants to break limits and inspire others.
“I want to be the white girl who broke the limits and opened the door for others to follow,” she said.
Becca’s love for music started early. At just seven years old, she performed on stage with her father at a pub.
“My dad used to sing and play in pubs, and my mum also sang when she was my age. Music runs deep in my family, and those early moments planted the seed,” she said.

Although she studied psychology and is a certified CBT coach, Becca also holds qualifications in law and mindfulness. She believes her unique background helps her bring something special to her music.
Speaking about her interest in Afrobeats, Becca said, “I love African culture. It’s so rich and powerful. Afrobeats is amazing, and I want to challenge myself by stepping into something new, something many have tried and failed.”
She added that some people question her decision to enter the Afrobeats scene, but she’s focused on staying true to herself.
“It’s not easy stepping into a space where people might question your presence. But I remind myself that I’m coming from a place of deep respect and genuine passion. I’m not here to copy; I’m here to contribute,” she said.
Becca Diamond is determined to break new ground and bring her own sound to the growing world of Afrobeats.
