The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, a special adviser to the Benue State governor, over allegations of sextortion, cyberbullying, and blackmail.
According to the EFCC, Dr. Aondona, who serves as the Special Adviser on Documentation, Research, and Planning, was arrested on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
In a statement released on Saturday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale said female students had submitted petitions accusing Aondona of demanding sex in exchange for ushering jobs.
“The petitioners alleged that Aondona was routinely recruiting slim and attractive girls for ushering jobs and insisted on sexual favours as a condition for selection,” Oyewale said.

He added that the victims claimed Aondona secretly recorded their sexual encounters without their consent and used the videos to blackmail them into continuing the relationship.
“Unknown to them, he had videos of every sexual act and was always threatening to leak the videos if they refused to continue having sex with him,” the statement said.
EFCC further disclosed that some of the explicit videos were allegedly shared on messaging platforms without the victims’ knowledge or permission.
“Some of the videos are said to be in circulation,” Oyewale confirmed.
The anti-graft agency said investigations are ongoing, and Aondona will be charged to court as soon as the process is completed.
The arrest has sparked public outrage, especially among youth and women’s groups in Benue State, who are calling for a transparent investigation and justice for the victims.
